Abstract

In this world, we will not be spared from natural disasters. Natural disasters are events that occur due to an imbalance of natural components that often occur outside of human will. There are so many consequences caused by natural disasters, in addition to leaving physical wounds, natural disasters also leave psychological wounds. Natural disasters can cause a lot of loss, people lose their homes, valuables, and even lose their loved ones. The church in its ministry has a call to carry out faith movements as its duty, so in this case this paper analyzes what role the church gives in carrying out one of its duties, namely diakonia from the three vocations of the church, the ministry of diakonia is not only tasked to help suffering humans but also to help maintain the integrity of human beings so that they do not fall into suffering. In particular, this paper analyzes the role of GMIM Eben Heazer Buntong congregation in implementing the church's tri-duty (serving) to victims of natural disasters.
