PENDAMPINGAN PASTORAL BAGI ANAK BROKEN HOME AKIBAT PERSELINGKUHAN

Abstract

A Christian family marriage is a holy covenant designed by God to create a sense of security and protection for all family members. However, in the reality of life, Christian families are not exempt from problems such as infidelity or the interference of third parties that can lead to divorce. When parents divorce, children are trapped in a broken home condition. This situation causes children to experience psychological distress and a loss of their sense of security. This paper aims to describe the church's role in fulfilling its function as a pastoral minister, specifically how the church is present in taking preventive, sustaining, and rehabilitative steps for families and even for children who are victims of a broken home. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, which aims to thoroughly describe and analyze the phenomenon of pastoral counseling ministry based on literature research. The results of the data processing indicate that the church is responsible for pastoral ministry that must provide holistic healing. In this regard, the church possesses a preventive function, wherein the church implements pre-marital pastoral ministry. Secondly, it has a sustaining function, which seeks to support or assist those who are currently hurting. Thirdly, it has a rehabilitative function, through which the church is tasked with restoring broken family relationships. Ultimately, the church must be present to provide a sense of security and healing by actively conducting visitations or even providing space for pastoral ministry.
