Christian theological education is often understood primarily as an academic process focused on the transfer of theological knowledge. While this approach is important for mastering the discipline of theology, it risks reducing theology to an intellectual activity separate from the formation of faith, spirituality, and the practice of Christian life. This article aims to re-examine Christian theological education as a theological process, not merely a pedagogical mechanism. Using a theological-critical approach and engaging in dialogue with the thought of Christian theologians and educators, this article asserts that theological education is an integral part of the dynamic of living faith before God. Theological education is understood as a formation process that comprehensively involves cognitive, affective, spiritual, and practical dimensions. Through this redefinition, this article argues that theological education must be directed toward the formation of theological subjects capable of reflecting on faith critically, contextually, and responsibly within the life of the church and society.
