Abstract

Early childhood is considered a golden period of development in which all aspects of a child’s growth— including intelligence, talents, and character—develop rapidly. Character education at this stage is essential because it involves cultivating moral knowledge, attitudes, and commendable behaviors needed in daily life. Character formation is closely linked to the development of children’s innate potentials, such as linguistic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligence, as well as individual talents that shape their expression and social interactions.Intelligence and talent play an important role in shaping children’s personalities, as these aspects influence how children understand moral values, interact with others, and respond to their environment. Therefore, character education must be implemented across all settings where children grow, with the family serving as the primary environment. Parents have a fundamental responsibility in instilling moral values and nurturing the development of children’s intelligence and talents, rather than relying solely on educators. Both teachers and parents act as role models whose words and actions are imitated by children. The internalization of character values in early childhood can be carried out through guidance, habituation, instruction, modeling, and reinforcement. By integrating the development of intelligence and talent within character education, children’s moral and personal growth can be strengthened, supporting their long-term success and well-being.
