HAMBATAN ATAU TANTANGAN DALAM PROSES IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA JENJANG SEKOLAH DASAR DI ERA DIGITAL

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at the elementary school level in the digital era is a strategic effort by the government to improve the quality of student-centered learning and to align education with technological advancements. However, in practice, various obstacles and challenges are still encountered, affecting the effectiveness of curriculum implementation. This study aims to examine the obstacles and challenges in the implementation process of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools in the digital era. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the main obstacles include limited teachers’ digital competencies, inadequate technological facilities and infrastructure, low student readiness, and minimal parental support. In addition, other challenges involve teachers’ adaptation to new learning paradigms, the management of technology-based learning, and the adjustment of assessment practices to align with the characteristics of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study concludes that the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the digital era requires the enhancement of teachers’ competencies, the provision of adequate technological facilities, and strong collaboration among schools, parents, and the government.
