MENUMBUHKAN ETIKA KRISTEN MELALUI FORMASI SPRITUAL DALAM KONTEKS PELAYANAN GEREJA MASA KINI

Abstract

The contemporary church ministry faces numerous challenges related to morality, integrity, and the exemplary life of its ministers. In this context, spiritual formation serves as a vital foundation for the development of Christian ethics. This study aims to explore the relationship between spiritual formation and Christian ethics, as well as their implementation in today’s church ministry. Using a descriptive qualitative method through library research, this paper highlights the role of the Holy Spirit as the primary agent of spiritual transformation that produces an ethical life reflecting the character of Christ. The findings indicate that spiritual formation is not merely personal development but also a communal process that shapes the faith community to live in love and obedience to God. The implementation of spiritual formation in church ministry can be realized through spiritual training, the integration of spiritual values in liturgy, and the strengthening of ethical service. A church that lives out spiritual formation becomes a witness of God’s love, bringing renewal to both congregational and societal life.
