INTEGRASI NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM KONSELING PASTORALDI MASYARAKAT SUKU MINAHASA

Abstract

This study aims to examine and develop a pastoral counseling approach based on the local wisdom values of the Minahasa community. Cultural values such as mapalus, ru’kup, and communal respect are considered to hold significant potential for enriching and strengthening church-based counseling practices. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research explores local cultural values and evaluates existing pastoral counseling practices within Minahasan society.

The findings indicate that integrating local cultural values into pastoral counseling enhances the effectiveness of pastoral relationships, reinforces the cultural identity of congregants, and addresses spiritual needs in a more contextual manner. This study formulates a theoretical framework that combines principles of pastoral theology, contextual counseling, and indigenous culture, and proposes a pastoral counseling model rooted in the Minahasan context.

This research is expected to make a meaningful contribution to the development of contextual pastoral theology in Indonesia and serve as a practical guide for church ministers in delivering transformative and relevant pastoral care.
