Theological Meaning and Missiological Significance of the Symbols of the Four Gospels inAlbert Benjamin Simpson's Ministry
Keywords:
Fourfold Gospel, theology of mission, holistic ministry, theological symbols, contemporary relevanceAbstract
This article examines the theological meaning and missiological significance of the Fourfold Gospel symbols developed by Albert Benjamin Simpson—Jesus as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. Through a literature review and content analysis approach, this research explores the theological foundations of these symbols and their application in holistic global mission ministry. The findings show that the Fourfold Gospel is not merely a doctrinal formulation, but rather a ministry paradigm that touches on the spiritual, social, and eschatological dimensions in an integral way. Simpson's thinking has proven relevant in responding to today's multidimensional crises and provides a contextual and transformative model for preaching. Thus, these symbols remain relevant for the contemporary church in building ministries that empower individuals and communities as a whole.
