The Trinity doctrine is a central teaching in Christianity. This doctrine emphasizes the oneness of God in three Persons, which is logically difficult to understand due to the limitations of human thinking. As a result, there has been much debate about this doctrine. However, in this contemporary era, the Trinity doctrine is not only found in academic or ecclesiastical discussions, but can also be found in films. One such film is The Shack (2017), which has received both criticism and defense due to its representation of the Triune God in human form. This study aims to analyze the concept of the Trinity in this film from the perspective of John Calvin's concept of the Trinity. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The results show that there are differences and similarities between the two concepts of the Trinity. The visualization of the Trinity in human form, which is not in accordance with biblical revelation, leads to tritheism, while the scene of the wound in the hand of God the Father/Papa refers to patripassianism. The Shack can be understood as a therapeutic metaphor, but it is not adequate as a dogmatic formulation of the Trinity. This study contributes to the study of dialogue in classical theology and popular culture.
